Franklin County Market Animal Show & Sale

Every year, Franklin County 4H and FFA youth purchase and raise livestock projects to compete at the Franklin County Fair. In addition to the expense of purchasing their animal, feed, and supplies, these livestock projects require months of hard work to feed, train, and prepare their animals for showing at the Fair.
These youth learn essential life skills, such as communication, cooperation, responsibility, service, leadership, as well as the humane treatment of animals. They also learn that these animals are being produced as food that will end up on a consumers plate one day.
The 4H and FFA livestock projects provide opportunities for young people to develop solid values that will serve their community.

The Market Animal Show & Sale program provides the community with an opportunity to invest in our youth and their future. Youth use the proceeds from the sale of their livestock project(s) to fund college educations, humanitarian service missions, or simply to get a start in life after high school. As a buyer, your participation in the Market Animal Sale recognizes youth for the expense, time, and hard work that goes into raising an animal for market.

Please support the 4H and FFA Market Animal SalE program and invest in the youtH AND AGRICULTRE of Franklin County!

This program teaches young people responsibility by allowing them to care for an animal, provide it with a a nutritious diet, maintain good production and financial records, and prepare it for showing at the county fair.

Investing in livestock produced in the program is more than just buying a steer, hog, goat or lamb. It is an investment in the future of these youth who are striving to become productive citizens. By marketing the product they have produced, young people in the program are able to continue in this educational process and prepare themselves to become builders of the future.
